I grew up in Grey Highlands and went to St. Mary's High School in Owen Sound, Ontario -- Go Mustangs!
As a proud first-generation student, I got my law degree from the University of Ottawa (JD 2022). I studied political science at McGill (MA 2019) under Éric Bélanger and focused on Canadian voting behaviour and elections. Check out my thesis here. I discovered the Waterloo Region while at Laurier (BA 2017).
In 2023, I was Called to the Bar of Ontario.
I have been fortunate enough to receive individual and team achievements during my academic career. I was a co-recipient of a Clawbies Award (Best Student Projects 2020) as an Inter Alia Editorial Board Member, a Public Interest Fellowship and a Common Law Summer Student Fellowship (with Tyler Alviano, Xiaoyu Hu, and David Westcott 2020) at the University of Ottawa.
I am committed to continuous learning and professional development. I completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC). I have certifications and training on legal research, financial literacy, accessibility (including the AODA), Indigenous cultural competency, board governance and obligations, research ethics (TCPS: Core), racism, racial discrimination and human rights, rainbow diversity, gender-based analysis (GBA+), and survey design.
My dad helped me learn to skate. This was probably the best I've ever been on the ice and reminds me how fortunate and grateful I am for my support network of family and friends.
