My interest in law started early. My grandfather completed law school in the Philippines but never had the opportunity to practice after bringing his family to Canada. His stories were my first introduction to law, justice, and the importance of advocacy.
I grew up in rural Ontario and proudly spent my formative years in Grey County, and I am a proud graduate of St. Mary's High School. I first lived in a city when I moved away to complete my undergrad at Wilfrid Laurier University. Laurier is where my interest in politics, elections, research, and community involvement began shaping the direction of my career.
Before that, I studied political science at McGill (MA 2019) under Éric Bélanger and focused on Canadian voting behaviour and elections. Check out my thesis here. I got my law degree from the University of Ottawa (JD 2022).
In 2023, I was called to the Bar of Ontario and became a Notary Public.
I am committed to continuous learning and professional development. I completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) in 2022. I have certifications and training on legal research, legal engineering (Level 1 - Harvey), financial literacy, accessibility (including the AODA), Indigenous cultural competency, board governance and obligations, research ethics (TCPS: Core), racism, racial discrimination and human rights, rainbow diversity, gender-based analysis (GBA+), and survey design.

My dad helped me learn to skate. This was probably the best I've ever been on the ice and reminds me how fortunate and grateful I am for my support network of family and friends.
